Hello wanting to buy but have questions
Hi all jeff here. I want to buy at least one of your skulls but I have a couple of questions.

1. If I buy the complete skull I still need to buy some sort of controller board, if so what kind and is there more than one kind...I mean is one better at tracking sound than others? I have notice some skulls don't track sound as accurately as others, I really want mine to track speech well.

2. Are the new skulls much better than previous models?

3. Where does monkey basic come into play?

4. I notice you have component parts to buy seperately, but do you have a kit option to buy all components in one place, I am afraid I will miss something buying them piece by piece.

5. Are they pretty easy for a novie to build?

6. Do you have plans for LED eyes and if so when?

Thanks for your time and sorry about all the questions but I really want a 3 axis skull and would like to be able to build more as I move along.

Thanks again for your time

Jeff

There are many differences. The new models are a completely different design where each axis is independent of the others so that there is never any 'binding' up when you try to move in more than one direction at a time. They also make it easy to transfer routines from one skull to another.

3. Where does monkey basic come into play?

When you have multiple routines made and want to run them back to back in a specific order with music inbetween if you want it, That's what Helmsman from MonkeyBasic can do. It is a free program, BTW.

4. I notice you have component parts to buy seperately, but do you have a kit option to buy all components in one place, I am afraid I will miss something buying them piece by piece.

The old design is sold as a kit. You get all the parts you need. The new design only comes assembled.

5. Are they pretty easy for a novie to build?

Yes, and there is lots of help on the forum as well as tutorials on the website. Again, this is for the classic design only as a kit.

6. Do you have plans for LED eyes and if so when?

We have LED 2 axis eyes now. Soon we will be introducing an LED dimmer board as a controller for the LEDs. Currently, you can select a color and hard-wire the LED's on.

Thanks for your time and sorry about all the questions but I really want a 3 axis skull and would like to be able to build more as I move along.

Thanks again for your time

RE: Hello wanting to buy but have questions
Thanks for the answer Bob. I did still have a question about the controller board. What type is it and where do I get it from. Also is there more than 1 type. Thanks

Jeff

RE: Hello wanting to buy but have questions
We use the SSC-32 board from Lynxmotion.com, but there are a lot of different boards out there.

Several are listed on the Brookshiresoftware.com website.
